Leslie is a weaver and textile fiber-arts enthusiast. She has been weaving for decades with primitive and complex looms. The materials she works with are varied and wide ranging. Texture is foremost on her mind, as is pattern.
Having studied 0ccupational therapy at University of Puget Sound and graduating with a BA in fine arts and general studies at California State University in Chico, she joined the Peace Corp in El Salvador and completed her graduate work at Cranbrook Academy of Art in the Fibers Department with an MFA.
Her education intertwined numerous workshops on natural dyes, complex weaves, surface design techniques, complex weaves, and handloom jacquard weaving.
Foremost, her career has been designing woven fabric for interiors, corporate use, and cloth for garments. She has worked directly with textile manufacturers, designers, and customers. Leslie is now pursuing art in her studio.
